This 1988 Mitsubishi Willys Diesel Jeep J53, was imported from Japan recently. Is “Street Legal” and comes with a clear NC title. It runs perfectly, has no leaks and consumes no oil and has 16,000 original kilometers. The top is new and can be removed completely or rolled back halfway. For those who don’t know, the windshield can be folded down, doors easily removed, take the top off and have a really fun drive. Now for the diesel part…the powerplant is an inline Mitsubishi Turbocharged diesel. Very solid engine, transmission, transfer case, and differentials. The jeeps engine starts exactly the same every time you turn the key, perfectly. The power delivered to the wheels is surprising because of the torque delivered by the diesels long stroke and the turbocharger. Getting inside the vehicle is close to getting inside a newer vehicle. There is a small separation in the stitching on the drivers seat. The floor pan where the driver places his feet has the paint worn off but no rust through. The previous owner did have some extra lights on the front bumper which he took off prior to selling it. The wires for that are rolled up and tucked under the dash. The switch for the previous lights is still in the dash and is live when the switch is turned on. So either put some lights back on or probably just remove the inline fuse if you don’t have plans for the extra lights. As for the rest, the pictures and video say more for the condition of the vehicle than anyone else can. It’s in very good condition with low miles and runs perfectly.
